According to Legislation if an appliance fails, the following then applies.

It is the responsibility of the tester to

• Identify’s any electrical or physical defects of any portable electrical appliance.
• Record and Label the faulty equipment.
If testing identifies a fault or non-complying piece of equipment it MUST be withdrawn from service immediately through the immediate application of an “Out of Service” tags or the permanent removal of the plug top.

The appliance must then be:
• Assessed by a competent person, (electrician or equipment service agent)
• or discarded
The Tester will be able to indicate the extent and nature of the damage and in most cases advise whether the appliance can be repaired.
